“Our Hungarian whirlwind is an extraordinary musical personality,” wrote Walter Auer, principal flutist of the Vienna Philharmonic, in a letter of recommendation about Enikő.

Enikő Wendler spent much of her life and studies in Hungary and Austria. She graduated from the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (Universität für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Wien), where she completed her Konzertfach Flöte (Performer’s Diploma) in the class of Walter Auer with the highest distinction (“Sehr gut” – Grade 1).

She is currently a member of the Brno Philharmonic Orchestra.

In addition to her orchestral practice, Enikő is active as a chamber musician and soloist. She has performed at prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall and Merkin Concert Hall in New York, the Papp László Arena in Budapest, and the famous Pesti Vigadó, where she played as a soloist Iván Madarász’s 3rd Flute Concerto with the National Philharmonic Orchestra. She has also appeared multiple times as a soloist with the Szeged Symphony Orchestra.

Her repertoire includes outstanding works from the Baroque, Romantic, Classical, and Modern periods, ranging from Bach’s solo sonatas to 20th-century compositions by Elliott Carter and Jörg Widmann. Alongside her broad repertoire, she frequently performs works by French Impressionist and modern composers. According to her, these eras offer the flute a chance to truly flourish, providing endless possibilities with new colors, new sounds, and musical solutions for both the performer and the audience.
